Editorial Standards
These are the rules we write by. They are short on purpose, so they can be kept.
What our articles are — and are not
- They are general information about everyday cosmetic care and technique.
- They are not medical advice. We do not diagnose, and we do not suggest treatments for skin, hair or nail conditions. If something is painful, persistent or getting worse, a doctor or dermatologist is the right person to ask.
- They are not product reviews. We do not test products, and we do not publish “best of” rankings, scores, prices or stock information.
Sources
Claims that can be checked — about skin, irritation and allergy, sun protection, hair damage, labelling rules, shelf life — are supported by sources that were opened and read while the article was written. We prefer primary and authoritative sources: dermatology associations, public health services, regulators and peer-reviewed research. They are listed at the end of each article. If we cannot support a claim, we rewrite it or leave it out. Advice that is a matter of technique or taste is presented as that.
Authorship
All articles carry the byline Dates Force Editorial. We do not invent authors, experts, quotes, reader reviews or awards. Articles are drafted with AI assistance; see the AI & Content Policy. They are not reviewed by licensed medical or cosmetology professionals, and we do not claim otherwise.
Dates
Each article shows the date it was first published. If we change facts or advice in a meaningful way, we add an “Updated” date and say what changed. Fixing a typo does not change the date.
Tone
We do not shame appearance, age or hair texture, and we do not sell the idea that you need fixing. No transformation promises.
Brands and independence
We name a brand only when it helps explain something. Advertisers have no say over editorial articles. Dates Force does not currently use affiliate links; if that changes, we will publish an affiliate disclosure and mark the links.
Advertising
Paid placements are always labelled “Sponsored” or “Advertisement”, are visually separated from editorial stories, and their links carry rel="sponsored". More on Advertise.
Images
Photographs are licensed stock images, credited under the lead photo of each article. They illustrate a topic; they are not pictures of product tests or “before and after” results, and the people shown have no connection to the article.
Corrections
We fix errors promptly and say so. See Corrections.
